I really thought my One Sentence A Day Journal was going to be successful! However, as you can see below it has become a Paragraph A Week Journal. Sigh. I always begin with good intentions. I have started online scrap booking, and I am loving it...maybe I will complete one book! The hardest part is trying to organize my hundred trizillion pictures before I can scrap them! I started with 2009 because those pics seemed to be a bit more organized than other years. I would share a few completed pages, but have not figured out how to YET. I can NOT believe how much my boys have grown and matured in the past 3 years...for example...
Spring 2009
and three short years later...
Spring 2012
Time marches on without the permission of Mamas! They have all changed in so many ways, and yet they are still the same. They make me laugh, cry, pull my hair out, and my heart feel like it is going to explode from loving them so much and wanting the best for each of them. Avery is in North Carolina for the week so I am emotional...moving on...
Latest favorite Line by Landry - "Mama, I prayed for the Holy Ghost really hard at church. I did not get the Holy Ghost, but I DID get a whole lotta Jesus!"
Latest favorite Moment with Riley - The electricity was off while Clark was in California. Before Riley went to bed he complimented me on what a good job I was doing of taking care of everybody without Dad being at home...in the dark...in the heat. That boy makes my heart melt!
Latest favorite Moment with Avery - Having a llllloooonnnngggg serious talk about the future. Listening as he poured out his heart ... brokenness about friends and family straying from the Lord, girls that are so pretty and post Godly statuses on facebook but yet live far away, and wishing they lived closer, areas he would like to be involved in at church when he gets older. As he talked, it was like listening to the heartbeat of Clark. One of those moments that I thought my heart would seriously explode. Have I mentioned Avery is in NC and I am emotional?
Latest mind-blowing statement from our ladybug - "I have one wish. I wish that when I was a baby, I could have been your baby." I have no words for moments like this. Only prayers - help me Jesus to be what I need to be to this girl that you have placed in our lives. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
A few excerpts from my no longer One Sentence A Day Journal...
May 25, 2012 – Avery slept until late
in the afternoon after his week at Competition. Later both Riley and
he had youth functions. Thankful that Emery has had such a wonderful
week since his new heart!
May 26, 2012 – Clark put up our pool today. It is the biggest one that we have ever had. It is always our best summer investment!
May 27, 2012 - Church day! Nathan Ferguson came home with Riley and the boys swam all afternoon. We tried a new Mexican restaurant and it was delish!
May 28, 2012 – Memorial Day – Mom, Dad, Sis, Randy and all the Pressons headed to Cades Cove for a picnic. The kids had fun playing in the water, except for Avery. He is getting too mature for childish joys! Back home to swim the afternoon away! Best part of the weekend...Clark was HOME for THREE whole days!!!
May 29, 2012 – Back to 5th Grade for Riley and me. It is a struggle trying to finish up! We will get there! I am proud of him!
May 30, 2012 – Our ladybug started a new playschool today. She will be going two days a week. She was very quiet when I dropped her off. I am anxious to pick her up, and see how her day was. Happy Birthday to Dawn!
May 31, 2012 - Headed back to the doctor for a check-up on my back today, and an allergy check-up for Riley.
June 1, 2012 - 2 big boys headed to youth rally tonight. Riley forgot his epipen, so he didn't get to eat at Steak N Shake after the service. I felt so sorry for him!
June 2, 2012 – Mom, Sis & I went resaling in Knoxville. We will definitely be going again!
June 3, 2012 – ACA Graduation. TWELVE graduates! Many of them were once in my 6th grade class.
June 19, 2012 – Whew – and I thought keeping up with this was going to be easy! Spent last week helping with concessions at Strong Tower Youth Camp. It was fun, but I was so glad to be home! Landry stayed here with Aunt Lisa, Grandma, & Amy. I was so glad to see him and Clark!
July 9, 2012 – ARGH! I really thought that I could keep up with this! Quick catch up...Clark went to CA this past weekend for Rich's 40th birthday. He has a great time of lots of golfing and sightseeing. We missed him like crazy! Laura and Evan were here for a couple of weeks. Had a scary episode with her at Dollywood, but the Lord was with us! Difficult weekend with the ladybug. Praying for the Lord's will and healing in her life and mind, and HELP for me as I try to deal with it! However, she had a good day at her playschool and didn't get her name on the board. I am very happy about this!
July 16, 2012 – Avery in in North Carolina for a week with Nana & Papa. He has been so excited about this trip! I am missing him, but thankful that he is getting to spend time with them! I had a MAJOR setback with my back this week. I have been in the bed Saturday and Sunday and can tell it is slowly improving, and strength is returning to normal in my left leg again. Mom, Dad & Sis are in IL this week spending some more time with Laura. Maybe I need to call this a Paragraph A Week Journal instead of One Sentence a Day! I made it to TWENTY POUNDS this past week, but am back up 2 after my weekend of bed rest. Sigh! Dieting is so frustrating!
GOALS for the week...keep up with my journal, get those pesky 2 pounds off, don't do anything else to reverse the improvement I have made on my back!
