Perfect Amount of Time

Landry's brain is rarely bored.  It always has many things zooming around in it at once.  Last week he asked me if I would like it if seconds were minutes, minutes were hours, and hours were days.  It didn't take me long to answer, "Yes, I would love it!  Just think of all the laundry I could do if hours were days.  I would never get behind.  Your brothers would never tell me that you were out of clean school uniforms at 8:05 in the morning.  I could have this house spotless before your dad comes home from work"...and on and on and on I went.  More time.  He was probably sorry that he had asked!

It is just like the Lord to bring me back to reality.  The reality of laundry that will never be caught up in a house of six.  The reality that the house might be fairly clean when all 4 kids get home from school, but messy once again before Clark comes home at night.  The reality that I will go to bed each night with many things left undone, because He has created my body to require rest.  I opened my devotional and read these words.

"With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day."  2 Peter 3:8

Keep us from being slaves to time, Lord.
You always create time and space for anything that brings you glory.
Teach us to rest in the knowledge that time is in your hands.
Whenever we think we don't have enough of it, show us you have plenty and are happy to share!  Thank you, Lord, for your generous supply of time.

The Lord put 24 hours in my day.  He created the sun to rise and the sun to set.  It was His perfect plan.  He created seconds, minutes, and hours for me to accomplish the things that bring Him glory.  Thank you, Lord for the time that you have given to me.  May I not wish for more, but use what you have given wisely.  Your plan is perfect.
