Happy New Year - 2010! Amazing...it feels like I was just getting ready for Y2K...yes, I was one of those that planned diligently for it! My garage was full of water, canned goods, can opener, powdered milk, batteries, flashlights and chocolate galore! Also, plenty of pull-ups, baby wipes and toilet paper!! The older I get the speedier a decade gets! Whew! So excited to see what the next one brings! It will certainly bring me into a new realm of motherhood, the teen years (eventually) for all three of my boys. Clark and I are praying about major changes in our lives, and although I do not feel I can discuss them now, I am asking that you will help us in praying about them!
Monday night I started MAKING the boys get in the showers. They have not yet realized the necessity of daily bathing. I heard all showers come on and once again felt victorious! Avery called for me in a calm, yet panicky-filled voice. You know the voice, the one that immediately makes your heart pound and all fight or flight sensors tune in! I rushed to his bathroom. The bathtub was splattered with blood and was streaming down one wall. He said, "I'm bleeding, Mama, and I don't know where it is coming from!" At this point, I am scared out of my mind. I begin checking all cracks and crevices(literally) for spurting blood. My oldest son was shaking, and I was too. It finally hit me that he is shaking from laughter...I then notice that he was holding a new bottle of Axe Bodywash in his hand. He (so sweetly) turns it upside down and squirts a stream of manly smelling, look a-like blood into the tub. Now, MY blood is boiling - Avery, and all the other men-folk in my home enjoyed this immensely!
My home is never quiet, calm or boring...
He might look sweet and innocenct..but looks ARE deceiving!
Oh, sweet LaTrisa!!! How horrible for you, yet how totally hilarious. Gotta love boys and their sense of humor. Will be praying for you and Clark as you consider the "life-changes". It was wonderful to see all of you at Lighthouse during the holiday....you have NO idea how much I miss both of you. Love ya.
